When we split up, we were working on a new full-length that we had planned to release in 2007. We had six songs written and in varying stages of completeness at the time. Two of the songs, "Never in Life Never in Death" and "Stumble," were released as an early promo for the new album. We recently posted those on here as an EP, "There Will Be Blood." The other four songs have remained incomplete on my hard drive ever since.

Two of these songs, "Water Sifts Through the Sewage" and "Despise," were arguably some of the heaviest material we ever wrote. I always wanted to release these songs. I recently opened the files back up, recorded a few new parts, and resumed mixing and mastering from where I left off. These two songs were written at a very interesting point in our career. Things were changing and ending for us, personally and professionally. I feel like these songs capture all of this well.

While separate songs, they were intended to be played back-to-back giving them the feel of one song, and were performed this way the only time we played them live when we opened for Machine Head in February of 2007.

If you like these, maybe we'll finish up the other two songs from this session and release them someday as well.
